Chapter Eight: Vice It [Logan Chase]

I left the sound of blaring sirens only to see the lovely sight of a familiar face shouting a long string of swears at her Nintendo 3DS. “Stop using Confuse Ray you sick fuck! Come on Izzy, don’t die, don’t die, don’t die… FUCKING SHIT IZZY.”

I smiled as the portal closed up behind me. “Let me guess: another Zubat, right?”

The girl in question, Zoe Leon, looked up from the device with a very annoyed expression. “No, now it’s a goddamn Golbat. I’m just trying to catch one stinking Pokemon, and these things keep bombarding me! It’s either them or fucking Haunters, and it’s really pissing me off!”Read More! )

Chapter Seven: Gemini [Al Smith]

“EMMA!”

As soon as the flames dissipated, I ducked past Aries and ran as fast as I could over to Em. I caught her just before she made contact with the ground. She felt like a furnace, and my hands were getting burnt just by touching her, but I refused to let go. “Em?! Em! Are you alright?!”

I didn’t get an answer. Looking down at her, I saw that she had already passed out. That put our numbers at three. The enemy also had three, but it wouldn’t have made a difference even if their numbers were lower. It was clear that they completely outmatched us in every way by a large margin. And now that Em was down, I had to do what I could to keep her out of danger.Read More! )

Chapter Six: Chaotic Inferno [Emma Parker]

About one week had passed since the showdown with the Chang-Los. Despite how large-scale the battle was, surprisingly there wasn’t a whole lot of damage. A few buildings might’ve been out of place, but those were pretty easy to fix. And in any case, things since then had been pretty quiet.

Melisma had quit working with the Chang-Los, and since we were initially hired to deal with Melisma, we weren’t really needed for any missions in that past week. So while all the non-mage agents dealt with the standard Chang-Lo missions, the rest of us were on break. After a few days of vacation, I had gotten pretty used to not having to go to work; we weren’t even on call at the time either. It was a really nice feeling.Read More! )

Chapter Five: The Quintessimal Sphere [Minami Cho]

As soon as we touched ground, I stormed as far away from the group as possible. I only stopped when I reached the debris blocking my path. I sat down on some of the rubble and, propping my arms on my knees, leaned forward and stared at the ground. The thunder and lightning was gone, but the rain kept pouring on down.Read More! )

Chapter Four: Storm Warning [Seph Hirano]

Agreeing to work with the Chang-Los had been a huge mistake, and with me being the leader of Melisma, it was my responsibility to make sure that Heng’s plan for the Element Spheres failed. The only way to do that was to destroy the Quintessimal Sphere’s core, which we had just recently found. The problem was that so far, none of us had been able to do so. Not even Hans with his super strength could give the thing a scratch. This left me with one other option: get the core to Shuuhei, because he was the only other person I knew of who had a chance of destroying it.Read More! )

Chapter 3: Solomon [Ren Witten]

One of the more important things I gleaned from that briefing was that Shuuhei was just about ready to explode. I knew it was taking all he had just to keep his emotions at bay while speaking to the lot of us. Once the briefing was over, however, he completely let loose.

As soon as we, Joe and Lex were the only ones left in the room, Shuuhei grabbed the table nearest him and flipped it over onto its side. Then that sent all of his important documents flying up into the air…read more! )

Chapter 2: The Element Spheres [Emma Parker]

“Whoa. Geez Al, calm down! You’re hitting too hard!”

“Oh, I am? Sorry, my bad.” Al relaxed himself more and continued punching away, this time a bit more gently, at the blocking cushion I was holding up for him.

“Got something on your mind?”

“Nah, not really. I read the new chapter though.”

“Yeah?” The chapter in question was from a long-running manga series Al had been reading for years. I didn’t read this one in particular, but I knew a lot about it thanks to him. “And?”

Al shrugged. “It was okay, I guess.”

“Really? Just okay?”

“Yeah, well I feel like this arc in general has just been dragging for a while now. Some aspects are pretty interesting, but the plot itself is just boring, and the enemies are incredibly under-leveled, they aren’t even a threat really.”

He started punching harder again, but I was ready for it this time. “Still, at least the crew’s able to kick some ass. It’s pretty cool to see them in action after the timeskip and all.”Read more! )

Chapter 1: First Mission [Minami Cho]

I was thrilled to be back with ETMA after being gone for so long. It felt like I was waking up from a long-ass dream, only to find myself in a familiar setting again. I was finally at home.

The first few days back on base went pretty well in my opinion. Out of the twenty of us called in, fourteen were new to ETMA, so all we had been doing since then was training. A few of us, myself included, had each been training several of the others over the years, so everyone was pretty skilled when it came to using their powers. This exercise though was mainly thought of as an icebreaker, to get to know each other more. So all in all, things worked out well!

As for that day… Ugh, one thing that I definitely did not miss while I was gone was the early morning schedule. While I was away from ETMA training new recruits, I was in charge of the whole enchilada, so that meant that I could pick and choose all the training times and everything. Not anymore, I couldn’t! So that morning, I was forced to wake up at the crack of dawn, and it was a real pain in the ass.

Chapter 0: The Brotherhood [Al Smith]

Today went off to a pretty slow start. But what I didn’t expect was for my dad to drag my sister and me all the way down to Florida along with our two best friends. Not that we were really complaining though; all four of us were either out of school or taking random classes at the local community college, so we didn’t have much of a reason to argue our way out of our current situation.

“Augh, are we there yet?” My sister, Lex, groaned from the seat next to me. We had left the Miami Airport about 30 minutes before and after only a 2 hour flight, so I didn’t see what the big deal was to be honest.

“Yeah, almost,” Dad reassured her from the driver’s seat. “But we really haven’t been driving for that long. Are you that bored already?”

“No, that’s not it at all. I just want to get this over with so that I can go back to sleep. And what bugs me is that you woke us up at the crack of dawn just so we could catch a plane at the last minute!”

“Heh heh, sorry about that. Though, I only got my orders this morning, so this was the best that I could do.”
